TURKSTAT ANNOUNCES: 105 thousand 476 homes were sold in March

In Türkiye, 105 thousand 476 homes were sold in March. The number of homes sold in March decreased by 21.4 percent compared to the same month in the previous year .

In Turkey, in March 2023, Istanbul had the highest share with 18 thousand 166 homes and 17.2 percent. And according to the number of sales, it was followed by Ankara with 12 thousand and 23 sales and a share of 11.4 percent, then Antalya with 6 thousand and 120 sales and a share of 5.8 percent. As for the provinces that recorded the lowest number of home sales, they are Ardahan with 23 houses, Hakkari with 54 houses, and Bayburt with 69 houses, respectively .

Mortgage home sales amounted to 25,262.

Mortgage home sales across Turkey decreased by 16.5 percent in March compared to the same month in the previous year and became 25 thousand 262. The share of mortgaged sales in total home sales was 24 percent. On the other hand, the sales of mortgaged homes in the January-March period decreased by 13.9 percent compared to the same period in the previous year and became 58,822. 8811 of the mortgage sales in March; 18,164 of the pledged sales in the January-March period were direct sales

Exchange of 80 thousand and 214 houses

Other home sales in Turkey decreased by 22.8 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 80,214. The share of other sales in total home sales was 76 percent. On the other hand, sales of other homes decreased in the period from January to March by 10.9 percent compared to the same period in the previous year and became 224 thousand 393 .

Majority of foreigners bought homes in Antalya .

Home sales to foreigners decreased by 38.7 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3,415. In March, the share of home sales to foreigners in total home sales was 3.2 percent. Antalya took the first place in home sales to foreigners with 1,324 home sales. Antalya is followed by Istanbul province with 1900, and Mersin with 240 sales, respectively. in March. The Russians bought 1,175 homes from Turkey, coming after the citizens of the Russian Federation, Iran with 472 homes, Iraq with 165 homes, and Ukraine with 160 homes .

The number of direct home sales reached 32,899 .

The number of direct home sales in Turkey decreased by 14.2 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year, to 32,899. The share of first home sales in total home sales amounted to 31.2 percent. In the January-March period, first home sales decreased by 11.2 percent compared to the same period in the previous year and amounted to 83,907 thousand .

72,577  homes have been exchanged for resale .

Used home sales across Turkey decreased by 24.3 percent in March compared to the same month in the previous year and became 72 thousand 577. The share of resale home sales in total home sales was 68.8 percent. On the other hand, sales of used homes decreased by 11.7 percent in the period from January to March compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 199,308 .
