Urgent. An earthquake hits the Mediterranean Sea near Türkiye
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Department announced on Monday that an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred in the Mediterranean Sea at dawn today.
According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Department in Turkey, in a statement, the earthquake occurred in the Mediterranean Sea, near Turkey, at a depth of 11.03 kilometres.
An earthquake measuring 1.4 on the Richter scale struck Turkey last week, in the state of Malatya, located in central Turkey.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency, AFAD, said on its website that the earthquake occurred at 06:54 local time, according to the Turkish Anatolia Agency.
AFAD explained that the depth of the earthquake reached 9.8 kilometres below the Earth’s surface.
