Google announced the launch of the "Bard" chatbot supported by artificial intelligence, if it is available only to some users, provided that the user is over 18 years old.

In contrast to its popular competitor "ChatGPT", the user through "Bard" can view the latest information on the Internet, because it is equipped with a search feature called "Google it".

The bot can also verify its sources and check information posted on sites such as Wikipedia.

However, Google warned that Bard would be subject to "restrictions" and said he might share false information and show bias.

The reason for this is that he learns from information available in the real world, which currently has biases, which means that it is possible to show stereotypes and false information in his responses.

How do chatbots work?

AI-powered chatbots are programmed to answer questions online using natural, human-like language.

You can also write anything from letters to computer code and student and marketing articles.

OpenAI said that when its ChatGPT bot was launched in November 2022, it attracted more than a million users within a week.

Microsoft has invested billions of dollars in chatbots and integrated the product into the Bing search engine last month.

It also unveiled plans to integrate a version of the technology with its office applications, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Google has been moving slower and more cautiously in the artificial intelligence race in terms of launching its cool version, which it introduced in the United States and the United Kingdom as a start, and users must register to experience it.

Bard uses an earlier language model from Google called LaMDA, which has not been fully released to the public.

However, it attracted a lot of attention when, earlier, an engineer on the project claimed that the answers were so convincing that he thought AI was as conscious as humans. Google denied his claims and fired him from the company.

Most of the media coverage shows that AI is the hero, Krawcheck said. I think the human is the hero and the great language models are here to help unleash creativity.

Since the chatbot's information database dates to 2021, it cannot, for example, answer questions about the recent earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, but a cool bot can access current information.

Zubin Ghahramani, Vice President of Google Research, said that the robot was programmed so that it does not respond to abuse, and contains a filtering feature that prevents it from sharing harmful, illegal, pornographic or personal information, but like any method sometimes these restrictions fail.

When asked if the company was agitated, Krawcheck paused before responding that its plan for a cool launch was specific.

If Google is agitated, it has good reason to be.

A threat to jobs

For all the excitement surrounding this kind of technology, there are horror stories about some of the unsettling things about it, as well as fears that these powerful tools, which are still in their infancy, could pose a major threat to many different jobs.

There is also a theory closely related to Google that chatbots could one day replace lucrative Internet searches, so why scroll through pages of search results links when you can only get one neatly written answer? Google can't afford to be out of the race.

Krawcheck and Gharamani talked a lot about the responsibility and principles that come with technology, telling me about huge data centers that run cool robots, and how they aim to run them using renewable energy.

Determine the age of the user.

The two officials revealed that Google imposes restrictions on users provided that the user is over the age of 18, and when the teachers were asked if the students would start using Bard in doing their homework instead of ChatGPT, the teachers warned their students not to use chatbots to do their work for them even though Some teachers have embraced the idea.

Google says it will watch Bard closely to ensure it adheres to its AI principles, which include avoiding or encouraging bias.

Bard will not be able to express opinions or impersonate a character, although like ChatGPT it will be able to mimic other people's writing styles.

It helped Google write its own ad, said Sissy Hsiao and Ellie Collins of the company. Things weren't always right, but so far, it's made us laugh.
