X is changing the rules in influencer marketing

X announced that it is allowing advertisers to display ads next to content from specific creators. This step allows advertisers to verify that ads are not displayed next to controversial or offensive content.

The launch of the new feature comes at a time when several brands pulled their ads from X last year after the ads appeared next to pro-Nazi content.

“Starting this month, Advertisers across X can show ads next to a curated list of featured creators via Creator Targeting,” the company wrote in a blog post.

“This means giving advertisers more control to use the Ad Manager platform to run ads next to their chosen creators' content in both their timeline and account,” she added.

X soon plans to add the ability for brands to run ads via a creator's account, eliminating the possibility of ads appearing next to unwanted controversial posts .
